Aramid fibre

Aramid fibre is a synthetically produced polymer with very high tensile strength and low specific gravity. When made into a laminate, aramid fibre is characterised by high impact strength. Therefore it is used in ballistic applications. Its compressive strength is similar to that of glass fibre. The downside is its sensitivity to moisture and UV radiation.
