Carbon fibre fabrics

As a supplier of the composite industry Haufler Composites offers a variety of high-grade carbon fiber fabrics. Haufler Composites offers carbon fiber fabrics for industrial use as well as carbon fiber fabrics with extra smooth weave pattern and surface for design applications. Custom-made carbon fabrics (e.g. fabrics made of high modulus fiber) are part of the product range just as carbon fabrics with approval for aeronautics. To ensure short delivery time, most of the carbon fabrics are held in stock.

Carbon fibre fabrics are characterised, amongst other things, by low weight, high drapability and ease of handling. Important elements for classifying the fabric styles are the tex count (g/1000m), the thread count per cm, the yarn type, the areal weight and the weave pattern.

Bindered carbon fabrics

Our fabrics are also available powdered with epoxy binder (on one side) or laminated with copolyamid fleece (on one side). Bindered fabrics can be cutted or die-cutted without fraying.

By short heating and pressing into shape, solid 3D multilayer preforms can be obtained. Bindered fabrics can be handled without distortion but they need to be warmed to drape.

ECCellent® Carbon Fabric Styles

Smooth and dense surface by slightly spread fibres

In the production process the fabric gets slightly spread. Compared to standard carbon fiber fabrics, the surface is more smooth and closed. Due to the reduction of undulations, the characteristic values are increased. In addition to design applications the smooth surface has also effects in toolmaking where the lifetime of CFRP tools can be increased.
